6月23日(金)に聖ドミニコ修道会の総長の来訪があった。聖ドミニコ修道会総長歓迎式典の挨拶を紹介したい。

皆さん、こんにちは。
聖ドミニコ修道会総長のジェラルド・フランシスコ・ティモネル神父様と、聖ドミニコ修道会　アジア・アシスタントのジャムシェッド・アルベルト神父様が来日され、本校をご訪問くださいました。
ジェラルド・フランシスコ・ティモネル神父様は1968年にフィリピンでお生まれになり、1981年に小学校を首席で卒業し、高校を総代として卒業されました。
1985年に聖ドミニコ修道会に入会し、1995年に司祭に叙階されています。その後、2019年から聖ドミニコ修道会第88代総長を務めていらっしゃいます。
また、ジャムシェッド・アルベルト神父様は、総長様と同じ年齢で、パキスタンでお生まれになり、現在はローマで活動をしていらっしゃいます。
それでは英語でご挨拶を申し上げます。

Our identity, the founding spirit of our school is to nurture world-class educated students and Apostls of Love and Light, Amor et Lumen.
One month ago, we were informed that you’d be coming to Japan and visiting our school. Our students and our faculty members have been looking forward to seeing you ever since.
Your effort and presence today encourage all the students and faculty members and are greatly appreciated!

この後、総長のジェラルド・フランシスコ・ティモネル神父様から英語で挨拶があり、スピーチの最後に、総長来訪記念として、生徒たちに1日の休日をプレゼントすることを日本語でおっしゃった。
生徒が歓声を上げてこのプレゼントを喜んだことは言うまでもない。

今回で1学期の「チュータのひとりごと」を終了します。
2学期は9月3日（日）に開始します。
